How to Make Cheesy Ground Beef Rice Casserole
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grab a baking dish and spray it with nonstick cooking spray to ensure nothing sticks while baking.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. As it cooks, drain any excess fat. Toss in the diced onion and bell pepper; sauté them until they become tender, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in the garlic powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, and chicken broth. Let the mixture simmer for about 3 minutes so all the flavors meld beautifully.
- Combine the cooked rice with the savory beef mixture. Don’t forget to add half of that glorious cheddar cheese—mix it all together well!
- Transfer the combined mixture into your prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top. Pop it in the oven and bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until it’s bubbly and golden brown.
- Cool the casserole for a few minutes before serving. This little wait makes it easier to dish out!
